“Our food . . . is one of our most important interfaces with the planet and the human family. If food is not vital – fully alive – then we will find it difficult to have inspiring ideas.” Share in our bountiful harvest, grown and tended by our farmers Neil and Verity Howe with assistance from farm interns, community volunteers, youth program participants, and the children in our Waldorf school programs.
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Benefits Farmers, Consumers, Small Farms – and at Sunfield, Programs for Youth!
When you join a CSA at Sunfield Farm, you not only receive all the benefits of healthful eating while supporting America’s small, diversified farms but you also support our educational programs for youth in sustainable land stewardship. Your purchase – made at the beginning of the growing season – of a share of our expected production provides our farm with revenue for seeds and supplies. When you dedicate yourself to joining our CSA for the year, we dedicate ourselves to being your farmers, providing you with a weekly bag of fresh, varied, and nutritious biodynamic produce throughout the harvest season. What to ExpectBecoming a CSA member is making a commitment to eating in harmony with the seasons. The first harvests offer mostly leafy greens and herbs. But by midsummer your bag will bulge with over twenty pounds of varied produce! Each week your produce comes with a weekly newsletter that includes updates from the farm and recipes that help make seasonal eating fun and delicious.
Crops we are growing this season include Asian greens, arugula, beets, beans, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celeriac, chard, cilantro, cucumbers, eggplant, garlic, kale, kohlrabi, leeks, lettuce, onions, parsnips, peas, peppers, potatoes, pumpkins, radicchio, radishes, raspberries, scallions, shallots, spinach, squash, strawberries, tomatoes, turnips, and a variety of flowers and seasonal herbs.
